讲座摘要:

Despite the tremendous efforts in robotics research and development, adoption of robots in manufacturing is still limited. This is especially true for the manufacturing processes that deal with variety of workpieces in terms of sizes and geometry. In this talk, I will present several common issues in such manufacturing setups that hinder the application of robots, including issues in robot path planning and localization of large workpieces. I will discuss our approaches for dealing with such issues.
