报告人:悉尼科技大学罗震副教授

Abstract: This seminar is primarily about computational design of artificially engineered periodic composites with mechanical metamaterials of microstructures, with at the first instance the presentation of a level set-based topology optimization method and then the application to the systematic design of mechanical metamaterials and functionally graded composites.

Biography:

Prof. Luo is currently employed at UTS as an Associate Professor in Mechanical Engineering on a full-time base.Prof. Luoobtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (National Key Engineering Research Centre for CAD) from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2005. Before joining UTS in 2011, he had been worked as a research fellow at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, The University of Sydney, and The University of New South Wales for 7 years.

Prof. Luo's research focuses primarily on topology optimization, sampling and surrogate models, uncertainty analysis and reliability/robust design optimization, multiscale modelling and simulation, composites, elastic and acoustic metamaterials, biomedical implants and devices, and additive manufacturing, with over 120 technical publications in these areas, including 55 JCR Q1 journal papers since 2005. The bibliometrics of his publications are summarised as follows (Scopus report, accessed 12/06/2018): h-index 25 with over 1600 citations. His research were mainly sponsored by the Australian Research Council, National Science Foundation of China (NSFC), as well as UTS Industrial Partnerships in Australia and China.
